Nirvana Collection: As You Are
As you were, As I want you to be…
I’ve always looked at Come As You Are as a song of fierce acceptance, even if it is on one of Nirvana’s most pop sounding records. There is also a story it is about Cobain’s additions, however I look at it as how people are perceived to be versus how they really are. The duality of a personality - however in this space, know you are accepted for who you truly are.
In the vein of this song, this bag has two different sides (partly due to the leather). Both sides are painted and sealed with Angelus Leather Paint products however one side is darker and more moody (complete with a sewn on butterfly patch) and the other is lighter and brighter. And on both sides - brilliant flowers.
This bag boasts a short shoulder strap - perfect for crook of the arm carry or late 90’s club style - under the arm. perfect to carry a card holder, keys, lip product and earbuds. it features one inside slip pocket and a zip top closure. it is a “hippie” style construction meaning it is held together with a leather lace which lends itself to a ripple effect.
Dimensions are 10”L x 6”H x 1”D
The Nirvana collection was created to be able to provide small donations to organizations I believe are doing good throughout the community. Inspired by the response to my Pirate Radio Crowns & Cards, i wanted to see if I could do more with my business. 20% of the purchase of this item will be donated to one of the following organizations: Planned Parenthood, The Minnesota Freedom Fund, The Trevor Project, The LGBTQ Coalition or EveryTown for gun safety.
Please note all items in the Lyric & Aster store are handmade. They are crafted of pre-loved, dead stock or salvage. Meaning they have lived a life before and may have small blemishes or scuffs, spots, mild unevenness rust or a touch of verdigris. These are not considered flaws due to a) the nature of each item and b) I myself am human, not a machine – all items are upcycled – punched, stitched, sewn by hand.
Please take time to view the photos posted for any and all items as they are a large part of the description. Should you have further inquiries, please do not hesitate to reach out.
